Vielen Dank #Toshiba, dass ich nach zwei Tagen herausfinden durfte, dass die #N300 4TB NAS Festplatte fürs Wohnzimmer viel zu laut ist, obwohl sie als besonders leise beworben wurde. Hätte ich doch gleich hier geschaut https://nascompares.com/wd-seagate-hgst-toshiba-noise-level-comparison/ um zu wissen, dass sie mit zu den lautesten gehört. Ziemlich frech! Das habe ich leider erst nach zwei Tagen Gefriemel herausgefunden, nachdem es bereits Probleme mit dem Erkennen der Festplatte und des Dateisystems gab und ich mehrere Stunden und viele Versuche brauchte, um die ext4 Partition von der alten WD Red 1TB zu kopieren. 😡

In my error log was another bug in src/Core/Storage/Type/ExternalResource.php.
In line 66 $fetchResult can be empty. That should be caught by another if statement, for example:

if (empty($fetchResult)) {
                                throw new ReferenceStorageException(sprintf('External resource failed to get %s', $reference));
                        } else {

@Nextcloud User Forum Nutzt hier jemand regelmäßig Nextcloud Talk? Ich habe sehr oft das Problem, dass keine Videoverbindung zustande kommt. Ich betreibe die Nextcloud und den TURN-Server auf einem Computer hinter dem DSL. Manchmal klappt der 1on1-Talk, manchmal nur Ton, manchmal gar keine WebRTC-Verbindung... Wie sind eure Erfahrungen?

Jetzt wurde meine Android-App Friendiqa aus dem Playstore genommen. Die Begründung: bei Apps mit user generated content müssen die Nutzer erst irgendwelchen Nutzungsbedingungen zustimmen mit Verhaltensregeln, bevor sie sich anmelden. Weiss jemand, wie andere Apps das machen? Bei Fedilab habe ich sowas nicht gesehen.

Hello @Friendica Developers ! My new version of the Friendiqa Android app was rejected by the Play Store. According to them, the app

"MUST have the following features/functionalities:

Provide an in-app system for reporting objectionable UGC and users:
- Allows users to report/flag potential violating content.
- Allows users to report/flag other users for potential violations.
Provide an in-app system for blocking objectionable UGC and users:
- Allows users to remove/block potential violating content.
- Allows users to remove/block other users for potential violations.

I found an API for Blocking an account in the Mastodon API, but there is no API for reporting UGC (user generated content) and users. And I don't know how to block potential violating content. Is something in that direction in the works?

Funny thing is, the test account for them is following the Tagesschau bot and the objectionable content was either a report on the German team in WM in Quatar or a comment with the hashtag BoycottQatar2022. I wonder which one they found objectionable...

In "LINUX Unplugged: 475: Brent's Bug Battle" ging es viel um Probleme mit Plasma in großen Distris. Ich hatte komplett andere Erfahrungen: nach dem Upgrade des Notebooks meiner Eltern auf Ubuntu 22.04 gab es seltsame Fehlermeldungen, selbst mit dem Fehlermeldetool (sowohl unter X.Org als auch unter Wayland) bei jedem Start. Erst ein Umstieg auf Plasma hat das Problem beseitigt. Es war noch eine kleine Schulung notwendig, aber seitdem keine Probleme mehr.

Hello @Friendica Support When I use the API /api/v1/accounts/verify_credentials with the wrong password, it returns a 401 error and as responseText a html page. According to this documentation https://git.friendi.ca/friendica/friendica/src/branch/develop/doc/api.md it should return a JSON as responseText. In earlier versions it returned a JSON. Will that be corrected in the future or should I handle the 401 error? In that case the documentation probably needs an update.

Die sind von Unsplash.com. Laut deren Webseite ist kein Hinweis auf die Quelle notwendig, aber erwünscht. Der Dateiname besteht aus dem Namen des Fotografen und ein eindeutiges Kürzel. Ich weiß leider nicht, wie man in Wordpress Quellenangaben macht.

Ich habe gerade meinen Matrix-Account gelöscht, da der Server demnächst abgeschaltet wird. Ich habe auch nicht viele öffentliche Matrix-Server gefunden, zu denen ich umziehen könnte. Wahrscheinlich ist der Serverbetrieb zu Resourcen-aufwendig.
Ich habe auch einen eigenen XMPP-Server für Family and Friends. Bisher habe ich noch nicht den großen Vorteil von Matrix gegenüber XMPP gesehen, der für einen Umstieg auf einen eigenen Matrix-Server und für ein Umlernen von Family and Friends spricht. Diskussionsräume, die mich interessieren (Linux, Datenschutz), stehen auch auf XMPP zur Verfügung.
Wie seht ihr das? Geht der Zug eindeutig Richtung Matrix? Lohnt der Umstieg auf einen (resourcen-sparsamen) eigenen Matrix-Server?

Matrix hat eine sehr gute & laute Marketingabteilung. Der einzige Vorteil, den ich bei Matrix sehe, ist, dass sie mit Element auf allen Plattformen eine Referenzimplementation haben.
Der Vorteil eines einheitlichen Protokolls wird sich auch relativieren, wenn es mehr Clients und Server gibt, die den Standard interpretieren. Das ist ein Zustand, wie ihn XMPP schon vor Jahren gelöst hat.

... meinen eigenen Matrix-Server abzuschalten. Ich nutze ihn kaum und er verbrät ziemlich viel Ressourcen dafür, dass er nicht genutzt wird.

Interessant kann es werden, wenn iMessage & WhatsApp, durch den Digital Markets Act gezwungen, ihre XMPP-Federation wieder öffnen würden. Das wäre für beide vermutlich die einfachste Art und Weise...

Sprachnachrichten gibt es aber auch bei XMPP /o\. Und auch Voice & Video Calls. Es wird wohl auch grad an Video Group Calls gearbeitet...

Für Familie und Freunde bietet sich Snikket als XMPP Server an und löst auch das Problem mit IOS/Android Apps.

@Friendica Support Is it possible to improve the main site of the project (https://friendi.ca)? I find it rather technical and low on images. It think, some usecase would be great in the upper part like: Hobbies: find likeminded people in public or private forums or in the global directory. Organisations: organise your group with images, calendars, forums. And so on... The technical details with access control lists and federation is not interesting to most (nontechnical) people.
